Russia and the Arab world have had long-standing, strong connections and friendly relations throughout history.
The Soviet Union traditionally placed great emphasis on the Middle East and North Africa. In the second half of the 20th century, the USSR assisted the establishment of Arab states after decolonization, promoting the development of vital economic sectors, strengthening the public sector, addressing social issues, and improving the quality of healthcare and education.

Today, relations with partners in the League of Arab States (LAS) are steadily developing. Important current issues on the international and regional agenda are addressed in close international coordination. Russia and Arab countries consistently advocate for the need to strengthen stability, security, and mutually beneficial cooperation in the vast Middle East and North Africa.

Currently, there has been a significant increase in trade turnover with a number of the LAS countries. Key cooperation areas include energy, agriculture, and education. Existing mechanisms of bilateral intergovernmental commissions and business councils have been effectively established, and contacts between relevant agencies and economic operators have been intensified.

The logo of the Russian-Arab Summit is a visual symbol based on the image of a falcon – a symbol of strength, freedom, and nobility, which is significant in both Russian and Arab cultural traditions. The bird's swift forward movement reflects the ambitions of the partnership based on sustainable development, mutual understanding, and cooperation.

The two wings of the falcon are of equal shape emphasizing the idea of balance, mutual respect, and partnership between Russia and the Arab world. One wing executed in the colors of the Russian flag (white, blue, red) symbolizes the national identity of the Russian Federation. The second wing is colored in the characteristic green hue reflecting the Arab world and its cultural traditions.

At the center, there is a gold-colored figure – the symbol of successful cooperation.
